    Morocco advances to the semi-final after beating Portugal 1-0

    For the first time in the history of football, Morocco advanced into the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup after winning 1-0 over Portugal to become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. During the first half, Youssef En-Nesyri played the hero role for the injury-hit Atlas Lions, who extended their fairytale run at Qatar 2022 by scoring a spectacular goal – a brilliant header to set up the game.

It is likely that there will not be another goal scored with a leap more impressive than the one that he made. After Cameroon, Senegal, and Ghana, Morocco has become the fourth African country to advance to the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup. Despite this, no one from the same continent has made it to the final four until now.

    Nepal flood missing count rises to 6,150 after verification

    Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has raised the number of people missing after the Aug. 26 floods to 6,150. The revised total is 971 higher than the previous figure of 5,179. Authorities have recovered 1,403 bodies since the disaster struck, with 105 identified so far. Search and identification efforts continue, with 3,175 DNA samples collected for the identification process. Rescue operations have been ongoing, with helicopters completing 1,923 flights and 29 holding centers set up for displaced individuals. Nepal Police has been supporting search, rescue, and relief efforts, with 2,096 people currently in the centers.
